That's a hard one because Parvo can live on the ground for a year so, if you were going to be very careful you would have to confine your pet indoors for some time. You can also bring it in on your shoes and clothes so you would have to "disinfect" yourself every time you go out. This doesn't really sound feasible to me. I would make sure my pets were up to date on all shots though. How old is your baby and what vaccine schedule did you use? If she's over a year and a half and has received the booster around 1 year and 4 months I would think you are safe. A puppy I would be a little more concerned about. Just know the symptoms of parvo so you can detect it immediately and seek help quickly. Here's a great link that tells about parvo and goes into vaccinations and immunity.
