I just found fleas on my Remy who is only about 4 1/2 months old now. Its so sad and gross. He started to scratch off what i looked up to be flea dirt and i put the Advantage on him last night. then i saw fleas lying around where he slept or scratched (alive), does that mean its working when they jump off him? will they start to attack me after the Advantage repels on him?
But my main question is, how did he get fleas? He's never stepped foot outside and only stays indoors. My vet told me that he'd only get fleas when being outside or by other dogs, that's why i lagged on putting on the sample of Advantage they gave me. He's also never been around any other dog, only at the Vet's office. Could he have gotten fleas from there?
What should i do first? Should i get him groomed? Take him to the vet? Clean my room? i've already done my sheets (he sleeps on my bed) and vaccumed the carpet. Should i do it again? Also, if i just put on the Advantage, should i bathe him or get him groomed now? If i dont, will it get worse?
I also have wall to wall carpet in my room that is a dark pink color, where i cannot easily spot fleas investing in it. How can you tell if fleas are investing your room or just your pup? Should i just smoke bomb my room anyway?
