in bristol in the early 1900a hoouse was said to be haunted by a horrible pale faced servent girl. she was said to be the daughter of a man who owed the house 50 years before, she was a hunch backed creature who lived a miserable life half starved and oftern beaten untill she drowned herself in the pool in the garden. a lady and her 3 daughters moved to the house but couldnt obtain a housemaid for a few weeks, yet soon after they moved in one of the daughters passed on the stairs a young girl sweeping, thinking her mum had found a maid she just gave a glance towards the maid but the impression that she got was distinctly unfavourable. the girl had a hump back, the ghost girl was then seen by another daughter but this time the ghost girl looked at the daughter and then slithered down the stairs grinning hideously over her shoulder as she closed a door behind her. then later one of the daughters went in to the kitchen and the ghost girl was at the range so the daughter said what are you doing here? the figure swung round, an impudent leer on her face and scuttled off into a room to the side which there was no exit, at last the daughter thought ill catch you face to face but the room was empty and the girl had gone, suddenly frightend the daughter turned and ran up the stairs pauseing to get her breath on the landing when to her horror she saw grinning ar her through the landing window thirty feet from the ground the white face of the ghost girl. soon after the family left the house and then the next people to move in also left after only a few weeks. and thats a true story
