Fear...well unfortuatly you can't change the world just because someone is afraid of things. Dogs have a right to be out and about too. Just as people should be respected and want to take their kids places with them, dog owners should be respected too. People have tow ork to make money and survive. It is not too much to ask to want to take your dog out with you if you've been gone all day or if you are stuck in situations where you brought your dog on a trip or out and about...it is nice to know that some places would let you stop in with them. It's not cut and dry "leave your dog home". It extends far beyond that.
I have respect that people want to have kids and take them out. People should have the same respect for me.

I guess we do have to agree to disagree, but I must say a couple things and this is how I feel, so take it however you want. First of all, MOST people have the right to be out and about more than dogs. Society values a human life more than an animals, no matter how we feel individually.
Also, if you've been gone all day, why should a store make an acception for you? If you have to be gone all day, plan so you can make stops at home to let your dog out, or have someone watch your dog for you, or board your dog. If you live a lifestyle where you are constantly going places that you cannot bring your dog, either make sacrafices or don't get a dog. Everyone has to make sacrafices right? I know I've made them for Rocky...some I don't enjoy but I still do them because I love him and want the best for him.
Also, leaving a little kid at home is nothing compared to leaving a dog at home. You're not putting the dogs life in danger by leaving it at home.
I know what its like to think of your dog as your kid, I consider Rocky my child, and Gizmo is my little brother. I guess the difference between us is that I understand rules and regulations and don't expect everyone to make exceptions just to make me happy. I try to look at things from other perspectives.
