Default Physical Therapy??

Hello all,

My little Lyric jumped off the couch backwards about 5 weeks ago and fractured the bone just under his knee cap . Well he was is a soft cast for 5 weeks but my vet took his cast off this past Monday because she is concerned that his muscles were deteriorating. He seems to be doing okay, but he still won't fully walk on his leg. I talked with the vet and she said that it's going to be awhile before he uses it fully. My poor baby, his little leg is so scrawny and skinny looking. When I rub my hand and up and down his leg, all I feel are bones.

My mom thought maybe swimming might be a good physical therapy for him to build the muscle back up. Has anybody else gone through a broken limb? Any suggestions? I'm so scared that it's so skinny that he might end up hurting it again. He's a little crazy boy and trying to keep him and my Maltese calm is close to impossible. Thanks so much!
