Hello everyone! I'm a bit concerned about Luna's hair. The reason why I am so concerned is because it seems to me that she is biting her hair off and/or it's coming off because she has been really itchy as of late.
Below I posted some pictures so that you all can see it. I'm not sure what it can be but I was told it could be scabies? She does have a couple of brown spots here and there (the one in the picture is under her front leg). Sometimes she bites her legs so much that it starts to bleed. The most affected area as you can see from the pictures is her two hind legs.
Her coat is also very very dry and has been taking forever to grow. She will be 2 years old on August 20th and her hair has not got any longer than it is now. We only gave her a puppy cut when she was a couple of months old, I don't understand if this is a skin condition or the result of an allergy...etc??
By the way, I am taking her to the vet tomorrow but I would like to research a bit before I go in so that I know where I'm standing. Have any of your yorkies ever had anything similiar? What types of treatment did you seek? etc.
Thanks so much for your help! I'm just a bit worried...especially if it is scabies since it is contagious to humans...hmm.
