I rented a Rug Doctor a couple months ago and it ruined my carpet!!!!! It does not have brushes that scrub the carpet. Basically, it wets your carpet, has one thin line of brushes that vibrate over the top of it, then it sucks the water out. What it did to mine was it pulled the dirt up to the surface and it stuck in the carpet! My carpet is very light, kinda cream colored with light flecks of other colors in it. Now there are big stains everywhere!!

I have a Kirby vacuum with the shampooer. I've even gone over the stains with that and nothing is making them better. It's horrible! I really want something like the Bissell that will scrub the carpet.
