I crate Gracie in my room at night. I too am a deep sleeper, but somehow the mama instinct takes over and I hear her. She usually wakes up once during the night, 4 to 4 1/2 hours after going to bed. I take her downstairs to her pee pad, she does her business then back to bed we go for another 4 to 4 1/2 hours. She sleeps all night otherwise. I have an ex-pen set up during the day, with another crate, toys and pee pads, and food. She does really well, sleeps alot when I am not around. She cries when she knows I am home. I just ignore her until she quiets down, then I go cuddle and play with her. The crying is getting much better with each day. My one bit of advise? Lean on all these great pros at YT for info and help. And, get a good nights sleep before you pick her up. You both will be dog tired at the end of day one. Most of all, have lots of fun and enjoy!
