Yes, you can roll it up and take it with you. It was one of the selling points for me whereas the wizdog is harder (because of it's bulk). Let me know if you come up with a home made box. I would LOVE to make a litter box type thing that I could put the pup head grass in...that way it is totally different from bathroom matts....but I am pretty inept when it comes to this stuff so unless someone tells me how to do it...I can't figure it out. I would also like to make a collapsable box for travel.
