yellow jackets are a smaller wasp (but they are yellow and black). They can be deadly if you are allergic to them. Plus, their stings are more severe then a wasp. I got sting by one on the back of my calf and it swelled really bag, got a big ring around it and was sore and hot for weeks....I'm not even allergic to them! OUCH!
Regarding the owls and hawks.....I have never seen this, but since we are outdoor people and Mojo is with us for just about everything, our vet told us to watch for the prey birds (Eagles, Hawks, Owls). Since we have them all, we keep an eye out. We just watched two baby hawks learn to fly about a month ago, course, you normally hear their calls before you see them. Maybe, they look at a little dog like they do a rabbit or something...I don't know, and I don't want to find out! (that's for sure)
