The New York Public Library actually has ebooks that you can "borrow". You just set up your online account and then download the book onto your computer. It lets you keep the file for about 2 weeks and you can renew it if you need more time to finish it. I tried it and it wasn't bad, except you have to be at your computer to read it and after awhile my eyes hurt from the screen. But its free so I can't complain. Maybe you should check it out, this way if you don't like it, no money lost.
