Coyotes are a problem at our farm as well. I am afraid to leave my miniature horse babies out in the field at night so everyone comes into the barn which means more barn chores for me. I was at a neighbors one day last year helping them "work the cows". In broad daylight a pack of coyotes was watching.....and waiting. They had a scout on top of a big round bale of hay, and he just watched us all afternoon. It was a freaky feeling knowing that he was there.

I always turn on our outside lights and "scope out the yard before I let the yorkies out after dark and they are never ever left unattended.

We are encroaching on their habitat, and they have no place left to live, so they have adapted to living in our backyards
