We paid $500 for Maddie and feel like we stole her. the only reason she was that cheap is her breeders believe she'll get to be 7 pounds or maybe more. We jumped at her and picked her up the day after we closed on our house (not the most opportune time to get a new puppy) because we were saving so much money.
The cheapest we saw any Yorkie puppies was $750 and that was going to require a 10 hour drive or a $200 shipping (no way I could bring myself to ship a puppy
). On average we were seeing New England breeders selling pups anywhere from $800-$2000. If you wanted a teacup it was more.
Someone who would buy from a puppy mill would not understand the value of a well bred puppy.
