A deoxidizer keeps food fresh by removing the oxygen in the food container. Probably not as harsh a chemical as the kind that removed moisture, as is packed with some pills, but still--it's removing oxygen, so it has to be bad for any organism that requires oxygen to live! Glad to see that your furbaby is doing better!
