My only concern is that she will get bored, and chew on a piece of furniture of something... We have a small home, so when I close the bedroom and bathroom doors, she's got the kitchen, dining and living room and a small hallway.

Do you leave your baby loose when you are not home??

How old were they when you started???
What a bout a gate closing off just the living room?....that is what I do for Maximus.. he is only 12 weeks but he is doing good on the potty training and has free reign in the living room, I have a little bed for him in there and his crate so he can fo in whenevr he feels like, I think it makes him feel less confined...I don't know if this works for you but if it is a possibility in your house you could try and slowly give him more and more room...you could then move the gate to the kitchne so he gets living room and halleay and kitchen...etc...I don't know how the hoem is shaped but good luck
