I went to the library yesterday and borrowed a book called Little Dogs:Training your pint sized companion. It is American and by a lady called Deborah Wood so you might have heard of it already but I think it is lovely and would recommend it.
The last chapter is called "reflections on life with small dogs" and she says [Quote]
The small dog who is waiting for you at the door when you come home, who curls on your lap when you need solace, who looks you in the eye with love and wags his tail when you need company-that is the best small package you'll ever get. There isn't a better symbol of love, and that love will be renewed every day the two of you share.
There is loads of good stuff in this book and there is a website for the publishers
