I believe that rawhide is dangerous because it is a choking hazard. Someone else probably knows more about it than me, but that is what I was told. I know there are people who give their yorkies rawhide, but I don't risk it myself. There are other/safer alternatives. I give Louie Flossies by Merrick. I think it is beef tendon. He likes them and pieces don't break off to get lodged in his throat. Just like with anything you give your yorkie to chew on, they need to be supervised. Hope this helps.
