pottytraining Hi. I can understand the frustration of this pottytraining process because I am going through it right now myself. But, don't worry, there's hope! I remembered just praying to God that she would "go potty on the potty pad". But here's what I did (do). First of all, go to the pet store and buy an "attractant" (scents for dog's pee and poo ) and a deodorizer spray (for cleanup). Spray the attractant on the pad and make sure your puppy smells it for a little bit. If he/she chooses to go, then praise her like crazy!!!! And give her a treat!!! Sometimes the puppy will be ok with pee pee-ing with the smell and not poo poo-ing... so I like to leave a tiny piece of doodoo on the pad. Try to watch the puppy for signs of wanting to "go" like sniffing, circling and especially squatting... if you see these signs take them to the pad and say "go potty". If there are mistakes, spray the nature's miracle cleaner/deodorizing spray and wipe clean... the smell will linger unless you use the product. Maybe pretty soon your dog will come to you looking for his/her treat after she know she's potty-ed in the right place!! Let's Hope anyway!! |
