My husband had Chico at the dog park, but the big dog side was closed while they raked or something (bad planning for a weekend!) so all the big dogs were in the small dog area. So Chico rolls over and shows his belly like he always does when other dogs smell him, but then he got up and hid behind my husband on the bench. Anyway, a dog trainer guy that was there told my husband that Chico was overwhelmed by so many BIG dogs smelling him that he sort of shut down. So you are right to be upset that the big dogs were there - dog parks are supposed to fun, not scary! |
