| I've been there too LOL Hi, the first few days I had JJ, I let him roam the place as he wished (mistake...) and would only crate him at night.I set up pee pads and was waiting for him to get attracted to the smell.Supposedly they should be.But he'd go everywhere else than the pad and I couldn't watch him all the time, even so, catching him pee is hard, he'd just stop for a second while walking around and there you go. I'd put him on pee pad after he woke up, once I held him there for almost 30 minutes. Nothing but whining. Then he settled down and went to sleep. LOL. I got great advice here to set up an expen, small size, with enough space only for peepads, his food, toys, and bed. Then he's going to have no choice but go on the pad. AND IT WORKED! Right now, 2 days later, I extended his xpen and only put 1 pad there. He has even some space to occupy himself with toys when I'm busy and can't tend to him. But after I see he goes, it's easy to take him out for a while to play and let him explore.Still, at night he won't stay in xpen, wakes up every hour and whines like crazy.I put him back into his crate next to my bed and he slept half night, thank God...LOL. Good luck. |
