For the air travel, be sure to check with your airline about carrier regulations and to confirm you can take him. Some airlines don't allow dogs in the cabin and most charge you $50 to $80 each way.
We just recently took a 6 hour flight with Jaxon and he did super well (we're still on the trip and fly back on Saturday - hopefully he'll do just as well). I had him on my lap part of the time (covered with a blanket
