I guess my point is that I have my charges up front (and am an independant contractor not like a typical coach at a school). When I read the prices of a service: massage, hairstyling etc that is one of the reasons I go for that service. I estimate the cost. I am pinching pennies so I like to prepare ahead of time for what I will spend. If a massage is $40 a hour and I am $40 an hour, I dont' see why I would tip for massage when that is her price just like that would be my price and no one tips me. I dont' see the difference especially when I work overtime and do extra for my clients whereas a massage is just for one hour.
I do tend to tip hairdressers more because I understand that they don't always make a lot and if they do a good job, I want them to have something.
I would tip a groomer if they were low in price and really good but I've never experienced anyone who "wowed" me and the prices were always high enough that I felt they got a fair price for their work.
