I reckon all yorkies (like people) are different in some ways but I feel I need to tell you all about what happened to Buckeye.
Buckeye always begged for our food while we ate. Not wanting to say no to my little boy, I would give him some. nothing spicy or anything I thought would hurt him. I would poach him an egg in the morning and give him special made things just for him. He didn't want his drabby ole dog food any more. Well one day he was very sick and throwing up blood. I was crying on the way to the vet. I freeked out. I thought he was going to die. The first thing the vet asked me was what I was feeding him. He said his little stomach is too sensitive for people food and never give it to him. They will not eat dog food that is good for them if you keep giving them people food. (and he wouldn't). We had to fast him for 24 hrs. No water-no food, nothing. The poor thing was even doing his tricks for me to get just anything by the end of the day. all the while I was trying to ignore him because I felt so bad not able to give him anything. I did break down and give him a little water before going to bed because I felt so bad for him. He was put on an antibiotic too. It took a while before he would eat his own food but I never ever give him people food any more. He now sits fairly quiet beside us at the table while we eat. When we are finished we give them a treat.
Ahia on the other hand, I think, has an iron stomach and could probably eat nails.
