I think we all have someone in our family like that!
My family (just about all of them) now know that you just have to deal with how we feel about Mojo - if you don't like it or our rules regarding him - tough! - You don't have to come around, be around us, talk to us, etc. That seems harsh, but we all got tired of Mojo being dragged all over the place by some unruly little kid or being scared by the older boys, chocking on or being fed something nasty, etc.
It didn't take longs for friends and family to know our rules and regulations

regarding anything dealing with Mojo (kids playing with him, feeding him, etc).
Most of my family came around to the idea and fact of us having a birthday party for Mojo, holiday gifts, etc. Now, they gladly tell people where they are going, what they are doing, etc.
I've always brought Mojo to most family gatherings and over this 4th, we left him home for a few hours (it was sooo hot). Anyway, some of my other family members had their little dogs there (all sorts of dog breeds). Well, my uncle

brought his HUGE wolf dog that is pretty mean (he is cute and all, but mean). Well, before he could chain him to something, he got after one of the little dogs. So, those family members took their dog, told my grandmother they were going home and left! So, now she has a "no dog" policy. That royally upsets me! Just because of his stupidity! I mean, who brings a dog like that around little kids, a big family and other dogs? Anyway, she secretly lets Mojo down that because, after all, he is a part of the family and very well behaved!
