I do not believe that dogs are vindictive, or that they plan things. If one does it right and the next one does not get it, it is because they are different dogs with different levels of understanding. Just like kid, what works for one dfoes not always work for another one. You evidently did not manage to communicate to the other one just what it is that you want. It's just all a lack of communiction.

I think frequently what happens with a second dog, is the same thing that happens with a second kid. we do not spend as much time on the training as we did with the first one, because we have two now, and the first one gets in the way of training the second one.
