Default House warming- Register?

I just want some opinions. I'm moving into a new townhome next week and I'm a firsttime buyer. Were going to have a housewarming party, but I'm not sure if I should register or not. I don't expect gifts (even though they are always nice, especially right now since were broke buying everything else), but there are still some things we will be needing, and if someones going to buy us something, it would be nice if they know what to get us. So is it wrong to register for a housewarming? I'm hearing more and more people are doing this, especially since so many couples live together before marriage now. Also, if I register do you think people will feel obligated to bring a gift, and that I'm inviting them only because I want a gift?

Thanks in advance for your guys' opinions
