Had it been a few seconds sooner or later, I think Starsky would have gone under the tire. I just vision this over and over in my mind. Turns out Starsky is okay. He hit the car and bounce back with a yelp and came running back to me. I massaged every bone and muscle in his body to see if it hurt anywhere. He acted fine. I called the vet to see what signs I should watch for and when to bring him in if I saw any. We were going to a family reunion today and wasn't planning on bringing him, (just Shylah because she can't be crated that long) Well we ended up bringing him too so we could observe him through out the day. He did fine all day. I bet he may be sore tomorrow. If he is I may take him in to the vet to get muscle relaxers or something. He was so lucky!! I was so shaken up about it all, and kept saying what if..... I know it will be awhile that this episode will play in my mind. New rules have been set in this house that the outside garage door has to be closed before going out in the garage through the door to the house. Also I will have to work with both the dogs on not running out of the house when a door opens. Any advice on training tricks will be helpful. Starsky has found out we have wild bunnies out front and he wants to chase them.

THANK GOD, AND HIS GAURDIAN ANGEL, HE IS ALRIGHT!!!

Take some tips from the dog whisperer and teach your dog to never run out the door ahead of you. Before I open my door, both dogs must stay back. I taught this by pushing them back with my foot as I open the door and command "stay". Now they automtically wait to be invited to go out the door.
