Animal Smiley 019 Pee Pad vs. Outside

When I brought Jasmine home at 11 weeks, I started her outside. It would take at least 20 to 30 minutes before she would actually do anything. She sometimes would pee and then another 15 minutes she would poo. Other times she would pee and it would be 30 minutes. I finally got tired of waiting and took her inside only to find some poo on the carpet. It was really frustrating. I started using the pee pads and I would put her on it and tell her to go pee pee and finally she would. When she did I praised her and gave her a treat. She even poos on the pee pad and runs into the kitchen for her treat. She has associated the potty training with a treat. Will do the same thing when I start training her outside. She still has sometimes when she goes on the carpet. It is a long process!!!!!

It has really gotten hot outside so that was my main reason for the pee pad. I eventually want her to go outside but I will have to take the pee pad outside for her to get the idea. She will be 18 weeks on Tuesday. She is a smart little girl but it will still take some time and a lot of patience.

Good luck on training your little one.
