I have a wonderful lady that comes in every other week - BUT - it's just my mom, my husband and I, and we all pretty much pick up after ourselves. The cleaning lady dusts, mops the floors, vacuums, cleans the bathrooms and the kitchen, changes the beds and washes the linens. It is such a lift to come home to a CLEAN house. I HATE housework - so this is perfect for us.
The trick is to find someone you trust to be in your house. There are lots of services, but I was always uncomfortable with them. I fianlly found someone that had worked for several years for a friend of mine and now she works for me too, for about 10 years.
The only problem is getting EVERYHTING picked up for her to clean - our house isn't too messy, but the evening or morning before, I find myself running around like mad, picking everything up - but the house sure looks great after she leaves.
I highly recommend it - it's a great stress reducer!
