Default patella luxation

Hi there! This is my first time here and this was exactly the topic (patella luxation) I was searching for. My Yorkie (Mia) is 3 years old. Probably like 2 years ago, she started to limp for a couple of seconds, then it would stop. This would happen about once in a month or two. I brought her to the vet and he was quick to say surgery. Of course I did my research on the internet and even called the breeder where I bought Mia. Surgery was only for the worst cases of patella luxation. Mia only has a stage 1 luxating patella (there are 4 stages, 4 being the worst kind). Then last Friday, I noticed that she was limping more than usual. I thought I'd wait a couple of days to see if it would get better, but by Tuesday I brought her to another vet (we moved). This vet was very thorough while doing an exam on Mia. He said that there was an unusal wear in the cartilage of her right knee. Usually the knee would slip in and out, but on her right knee, it would rub against the cartilage. He gave her Glucosamine that I have to give her for 2 weeks. If that doesn't work, he would like to take x-rays of Mia's knee, but that requires sedating her because they have to position the knee a certain way to x-ray it. Chances are the Glucosamine will be enough to rebuild her cartilage, but you never know, maybe there is more damage that we know. Poor thing, it just breaks my heart to see her limp like that.
