OH WOW! Congrats! I just picked up my little guys yesterday too! I took him straight to the vet, who told me several things that contradicted with what many others said. She told me not to give him nutri-cal. She also told me to only give him kibbles as a snack(1/4 cup) ands give him Science diet canned food 4-5 times a day as his meals. The breeder told me to put honey in his water to keep his sugar up, but the vet told me to get the Karo syrup instead.
I don't totally trust what she said about the food because I've heard so many bad things happening when a puppy only eats can food so I mixed in the Eukanuba (that's what the breeder fed him) and some water, and he ate really well. He was a little shy at first but now he's jumping around everywhere playing. I totally understand your concern because my guy is only 6 weeks so I was really scared but he's doing great. This food formula is working well for me. |
