I would think that in a C-section there would be no reason for the oxytocin injection at all. Afterall, you are opening up the uterus so I am sure they can "clean it out" at the same time.

Have you been monitoring her temperature? You say the discharge was increasing? Was it smelly, green or black? Maybe your vet didn't administer a shot to clean her uterus out like ocytocin to begin contractions and it was an antibiotic in case she was developing a uterine infection. Did she pass anything after the injection? If so, I would insist she be put on antibiotics.
