Most strains of kennel cough are viral (and must be overcome by the dog's immune system on its own) and will not be helped with antibiotics; however, it can turn into a bacterial infection like pneumonia that antiboitics can help prevent. Also the vet can recommend or prescribe a cough suppressant to ease the nightime cough.
If you decide to wait it out (it can last several weeks), I would take her temperature rectally twice a day and if it ever goes over 103 I would think she is developing a bacteria infection and needs to go to the vet asap.
