They actually don't know what causes it, but stress is one of the things listed. He is more likely to have another attack after the first. Just keep a close eye on him and head to the vet when you see bloody stools because they dehydrate quickly and usually the vet wants them off food and water for at least 24 hours and just introduce fluids intravenously to let the stomach rest. I am glad he is doing better now.
