 It's also a way to describe the dogs, just like how you describe people (hello NOT age and weight, but other things, like colour). I don't think it's like "oh my yorkie's better she weighs 4 lbs." it's like a description "4.4 lbs. black and tan, white head" etc.

That's a good point, especially if it's reguarding health.   
I was at Petsmart one day and this lady saw Rocky and was like "Oh he's soo cute blah blah blah" then she goes on to tell me she has a Yorkiepoo  and was like "I have a yorkiepoo 
5lbs  like that was the only important thing of the dog.  On the internent it's hard to tell how people are saying things, so sometimes when people are like "I have blah blah blah #lbs" it reminds me of that. 
Also, I meet a lot of people w/ boxers, and it's not a common thing to discuss the weight, unless of course the dog looks really big, so I know it's not a dog thing, i guess it's more of a toybreed thing.  So I was just wondering what's the deal w/ it.
