What if the security alarm went off when I wasn't home and the police forced their way in, or say a robbery occurred, what if one of my babies slipped out then? Overall, I am not a very trusting person, but my experience has been that people are generally good and will do the right thing. I live in a nice housing area with several dog owners, and feel failry confident that if someone here found my Gracie, they would make every effort to return her to me. Bottom line is, if anything happened to any of my fur kids and there was something I could have done to prevent it, and did not do it, I could not live with myself. If my Gracie gets away from me, at least with a chip I will feel like she has the greatest chance of being returned.
These were my thoughts exactly...the 'what if' factor. What if a 'what if' happened and I hadn't done everything in my power to protect them...I just don't know if I could live with that, I mean, it's my job to protect them. We do have wonderful neighbors in our new community, everyone is friendly and we have 2 police officers and a fireman right across the street so I feel pretty secure in that area knowing that they know we have the boys. I'd like to think they would be returned if they ever got out but in reality I know they probably wouldn't be.
