I would hesitate to purchase a pup with health problems simply because he was in my price range. I know it's hard not to "rescue" one, but vet expenses are not cheap, even for a healthy pup. On the older dog, I guess you'd really have to interview the breeder in depth to see if this dog was raised as a "member of the family." I don't mean she's coming from a puppy mill, but some breeders don't treat their dogs like the pampered pets you read about on yorkie talk and she may come with habits that are difficult to break due to her age. Personally, while I'd consider a dog vs a puppy, I find one that was younger than 8 years old. Perhaps one of the more experienced yorkie talkers can provide more advice than I can. |
