My precious little Bridgett lived until she was 13. Unfortunately around 11-12 she developed diabetes and then at age 12 -13 she lost her sight and then developed some dementia. Around age 12 she could no longer jump up on our bed, so we created a ramp for her and then just picked her up so she sleep with us. So, her last 1 1/2 years were not wonderful for her. Prior to that she was great. She loved everyone, couldn't wait to roll over for a tummy rub and was a wonderful little dog. She did weigh about 8-9 pounds, so slightly larger than standard, but had a beautiful coat. We loved her dearly.
