I just think that she should not have to share them and why is my daughter only making $2.15 and the cashier is making min (5.15) and is waiting on tables and keeping her tips. something is fishy!!![/QUOTE
IMO all I can say is shame, shame on the states that allow a business to only pay a wage of $2.15 an hour regardless of what job they do. Missy, people in your state need to petition to get the wage law changed. Does your daughter sew ? Does she have any hobbies? Maybe she could try to get a job with a fun place like Michaels or a hobby store, is there any near you?
How many hours is she working a week? Maybe the owner will relook at it like this without her being there as a waitress, they wouldn't have the orders to cook and the cashier wouldn't have the bill to charge customers so looks to me like there wouldn't be a business to worry about who gets what. I wish the best for your daughter, by the way Missy what is your daughters goal in school and does she plan to go onto college and major in what? Patti |
I picked her up tonight and asked her what she made and she said $12 and the cashier took $6 from her. I told her she needs to tell them that her mom says if she dont start bringing home at least $20 a night then she has to find a new job, I told her to just blame it on me. She usually averages $20 in tips a night and thats the problem here is people dont always tip so here she is making 2.15 a hour and she gets paid everyother week and her last check was for 49.00 FOR 2 WEEKS!!!!! that is disgracefull! and she works from 4-10 usually 5 or 6 nights a week.
The thing is she does enjoy it there so I just dont know.
No we dont have a Hobby Lobby or even a book store here, when she turns 17 more will open up for her and she is eager to work, I'll give her that, she almost had a job at a coffee house and she was so excited but the man hired someone else!
I doubt she will go back there next summer and I'm glad of that. She does see my point and she knows it's wrong but she is not the type of person to start something.
She is not really into school, she goes and thats about it, she has talked about going to a local college but thats as far as it has went.
