I am a petsitter and this is what I would suggest for you. Go to your local groomers, your vet, even the local doggie boutique and ask who they know of that does in home petsitting. I keep babies at my house, I stay at other people's homes with their babies, and i do home visits 2-3 times a day for food, water, walks, playtime, etc. They can be a bit pricier than kennels, but the personal attention they give to your furbabies is worth more than the money. I started doing it b/c it's what I would want someone to do for my furbabies and it's like I get to have another dog everytime I take care of someone elses. I love it! But I would see if you can find someone in your area who does that. In my opinion, it's the best option. And judging from my clients, they love it too. I have one Yorkie who has become Lotte's best friend in the WHOLE wide world. She's actually with us this weekend. She stays all the time with me. I get to have another dog for awhile, my furbabies get to have a new friend for a few days, and it wears my babies out do they sleep at night! haha Good luck and if trust me you're more worried than she will be. But you're not overreacting totally. These are like our kids. I cried when I got to FL for vacation and called to check on my babies and heard them barking. lol
