You are not alone. TJ and Roxy have 2 different personalities too.
Roxy is shy and timid and very anxious. Sometimes she is in 'la-la' land, but she is still smart, just she doesn't focus very quickly b/c she has high anxiety. It has taken her a whole year to get at a reasonable 'comfort' level with me and my husband. Meaning she is not a cuddler - she does everything on her terms. She has a loud bark and she 'speaks' to me all the time. She has to check out where I am at all times. She is always on 'alert' thinking that I am going to go somewhere good and she has to be right there. Nothing really fases her, BUT she wants to kill the vaccuum. TJ is the exact opposite. He is EXTREMLY smart and eager and VERY focused. He has a 'whimpy' but piercing bark and he barks at ALL sorts of things (he thinks he can attack and hurt objects - blender, coffee maker, power screwdriver, etc...) BUT he is deathly afraid of the vaccuum, he hides in another room. He loves attention and affection, he cuddles, kisses, he lets you do anything to him. The lists can go on and on... I love them both the way they are and I am thrilled that I don't have 2 that act the same!
