Given those two options, I would probably opt to take the puppy with me. Oscar would just die if he was left at a vet for a week and couldn't see me and was surrounded by a bunch of noisy dogs (he hates the sound of dogs barking). If you've found a pet-friendly place to stay, then I wouldn't worry too much about housekeeping - I'm sure they're used to dealing with pets in the rooms - maybe just make sure that the front desk is aware that a dog will be in the room so that housekeeping doesn't leave the door open while they clean (so he couldnt escape) or leave a note in your room. If it were me, I'd probably tell them I didn't want housekeeping services while I was there, or tell them you'd only like it once halfway through the week - I wouldn't want strangers being around my dog while I wasn't there. |
