I live in a house with a very large backyard, but I thought if litter box training can be done, that would be a better option since we have really cold winters, and we get lots of snow where I live. I worry about taking a little dog out in bad weather. I also thought it would be good for times when we're away from home.

Thanks again!

These little guys do OK in the cold and snow. When it's really cold they just hurry. Mine hate the rain. I use a box with a pee pad, and they are about 95% now. One of them will occasionally go elsewhere. I still don't give them the run of the house unsupervised. They are confined to the kitchen during the day and a crate at night. I have a fenced in patio and try to get them to go outside most of the time, but they still use the fbox regularly too.
