I'd ask for the vets phone number and talk to him personally about the pup. Play it by ear and don't do it if it doesn't feel right and/or you start to see red flags going up as warnings. However, she may be very caring and very protective. I hope things work out for the both of you and that the pup is a healthy one regardless.
