I'm really sorry you have this tough decision to make, as you're probably already attached to him. I haven't got my yorkie yet, and I can't imagine having to make this decision. Is there a doggy daycare in your area or someone you can hire to come and play with the puppy everyday?
I don't envy your decision, but I do think that if you're going to find a new home, it's better to do it before the pup gets any older. That would save a little confusion for him as far as potty training, etc.
