Roached backs and incorrect bites are genetic. You can have two perfect parents that will produce pups with this. However, you would have known before 9 months of age if she was indeed roached. Judging by your pictures, she has a level topline.
Dogs that are nervous...like going to the vet or getting a bath...will roach up to some degree. My Gracie HATES getting baths and will roach up each time yet her topline is absolutely perfect on every other occasion.
If you bought her for breeding purposes then yes, the breeder should refund part of your money...the cost of the spay, at least.
If she has extra teeth, then this could have caused her bite to become incorrect. If that's the case, it's possible that her underbite is YOUR fault. Extra teeth can ruin a perfect bite...that's why it is essential that you get extra teeth extracted around 6 months when most people do their spay/neuters.
I went to a breeder that showed me a little girl of around 8 weeks. This little girl had an underbite and a roached back and you could tell already. I passed on this little girl.
Like I said, by the pictures, her topline is fine and like I said, with extra teeth, that can throw a bite (especially since you said it was slight), and therefore the breeder is not obligated to refund any of your money. |
