I've tried it. I got the kit/set that came with shampoo, conditioner, this and I believe a balm maybe. Anyway I love it. I really can tell a difference with Reagan from when I use it and when I don't. It's like a gel that you, well I, put on when she's still wet, after I put on a leave in conditioner. I will just take two or three of my fingers and tap them lightly in the gel, you really don't need too much, but I do have a thinner coated pup. Anyway then I rub it in my two plams then through Reagan's coat.
It does just what you said helps the coat lay flatter and straighter, I don't know so much if it makes her any more silkier looking. Out of all the products that I got in the kit this is the only one I still use. When I'm out I will definately get more and I won't have to do that anytime soon b/c it really does last a long time. I wish I knew when I ordered the PP products, can't remember, but I still have half a tub left.
I will say Reagan has a thinner, silky coat so it may not be the same with your pup but it does work for us. Good luck in whatever you decided.
