No, mine weighs 9-10 lbs., but she usually has a few other things with her dry food, but not always. No two puppies will eat the same amount anyway. You could just start with a half cup and divide it between meals. If that isn't enough for him, he'll tell you he's still hungry. I always just experiment and let them show me what their appetite is...to a degree. I won't allow them to eat themselves into obesity, of course, but it doesn't sound like you are going to have that problem anyway.
Re: the science diet...I thought you said he won't eat it for you. Right or wrong? If he won't eat it, perhaps he doesn't like it. Just a suggestion.
