Des - we will be thinking of Tiger and sending well wishes your way. He will be just fine, but it will be very strange for you to be home and not have him there with you that evening. The vet may let you come and visit him later that afternoon if you want (mine did since Sissy also stayed overnight).

When you bring him home, I'm hoping they will have given him some kind of pain medicine, so he will probably still be pretty groggy. If he allows it, why not just hold him lots that day. He'll most likely feel much better by Saturday, so you may not have to keep him separate from Annika. But for sure by the time you go to work on Monday, he will be his regular self again so you shouldn't need to worry about keeping him apart from Annika. Keeping his belly band on so he doesn't lick the wounds might be a good idea for a few days, too.
