Thanks again everyone. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to send your condolences, Kiwi appreciates it too. I recieved Kiwi's ashes yesterday. She was always happy so long as she was near us, so decided to keep her body physically near us and her spirit near us in our hearts as well.

My mom and aunt recommend that I get another Yorkie. At this point I feel that I am not ready to even try it...I'm still so upset about Kiwi, I feel that she was one of those "once in a lifetime dogs".

Mom mom's yorkie died at 5 years old from genetic problems. She said she wasn't able to do anything for 8 weeks, until finally my step-dad brought another little yorkie home. At first my mom was very hesitant but very soon, she said, she was able to love another little pup without replacing her first...which made her feel much better. Does anyone else have this experience? And how long did you wait? I can see myself waiting for a year or so...although there is something inside of me that wants to get another furbaby in the next few months.
